This rain has been crazy! NBC 4 said that yesterday, July 13, 2017, was the 11th wettest day in Columbus since 1878! Everyone at Ohio Basement Authority has personally felt the impact — from flooded backyards to flooded cars. One of our newest inspectors, Zeke Fowler, had to head home yesterday because his babysitter called and said the yard looked like “an ocean” because the wind was blowing the several feet of water in waves. My car also flooded with more than 20 gallons of water, and my coworkers spent time draining the water around it and the bailing out the water inside.
We also have greatly felt the impact it is having on our customers. We’ve had a high volume of calls this week from customers with flooded basements, collapsed walls and ruined belongings. Our inspectors made extra room so they could run emergency appointments, and the Appointment Center and Service Department have been working on overdrive to fit everyone in. We are dedicated to helping all our customers have dry, healthy homes.
“We know how stressful and upsetting it can be to come home and find water in your basement," said Appointment Center and Marketing Manager Megan Pettry. "Our customers are our No. 1 priority. We make it a point to stay available to help and hopefully give you some peace of mind. Don’t dismiss small problems before they become bigger problems. We’re here for you!”
