After seeing Ohio Basement Authority’s TV ads, homeowners in Canal Winchester, OH, reached out to us because they were interested in improving their exterior drainage system.
The owners met with Inspector Avery Robertson who recommended upgrading the system by having one of our crews remove the above-ground pipes and place them in the ground.
While he was at the home, Avery also took a look at the basement because the owners were concerned with water seeping in corners where the exterior drain lines were placed. Along with visible water intrusion and damage, Avery noticed there was an inefficient sump pump system that was failing to keep up with the seeping water. Avery then presented the homeowners with some reliable basement waterproofing solutions.
Foreman Nate Klingenberger and his crew then waterproofed the basement with the WaterGuard interior drainage system and TripleSafe sump pump, as well as exterior IceGuard attachments and new drainage lines.
WaterGuard is specially designed to sit in the sub-floor and atop the footing in order to accept seeping water from the walls and floor. This water is then directed to drain into the TripleSafe sump pump system. This system features three powerful pumps inside its liner, as well as an external backup battery.
Additionally, IceGuards were attached to the exterior sump pump discharge lines to prevent flooding if the lines freeze or become blocked. Newer, thicker pipe was used for the exterior drainage lines. These lines were placed in the ground and directed to drain far enough away from the home’s foundation.
The homeowners can rest easier knowing all of these trustworthy solutions will work together to keep their home safe and dry.
After living in their house for almost 10 years, homeowners in Westerville, OH, could no longer keep pushing foundation problems to the back of their minds. Several areas of the foundation walls were cracking and tilting inward, and one wall had a long horizontal crack extending the entire length of the wall.
The homeowners were concerned with the safety and structural stability of their home, and they didn’t want to see these problems worsen and result in serious damage. After finding information about Ohio Basement Authority on Angie’s List, the owners were eager to contact us to learn more about how we could help them. They met with Inspector Danny Pease who assessed the condition of the walls. Danny then recommended one of our many reliable foundation repair solutions.
Foreman Nate Klingenberger and his crew then installed several Carbon Fiber supports on the walls throughout the basement. These heavy-duty supports permanently reinforce the walls where they are installed, and they prevent any further cracking or inward bowing. These supports may not be aesthetically pleasing, but they can easily be concealed with paint, drywall or other basement finishing materials.
The homeowners are pleased this trustworthy solution was installed to help them create a safe and structurally sound living environment.
During the 20 years they have lived in their house, homeowners in Westerville, OH, have generally kept the home’s crawl space out of sight and out of mind. They sometimes venture into this area under the house to grab some stored items, and recently they noticed some issues with this area. The crawl space was not properly sealed or insulated. In fact, some of the insulation was beginning to fail and contribute to the unhealthy and unsightly atmosphere.
After seeing Ohio Basement Authority’s TV ads, the owners were motivated to address this nasty area of their house once and for all. They contacted us for further guidance and then met with Inspector John Becker Sr. John completed a thorough evaluation of the crawl space and then recommended the perfect solutions that met some of the homeowners’ goals including saving energy and gaining storage space.
Foreman Nate Klingenberger and his crew then transformed the crawl space by properly encapsulating and insulating the area.
Once the nasty insulation and other debris was carefully removed, the crew placed drainage matting on the crawl space floor. This thick material helps enhance the durability of the encapsulation material. SilverGlo panels were then placed on the crawl space walls for insulation, and spray foam insulation was applied to the band joists.
The crawl space was then encapsulated in CleanSpace liner. This thick and durable liner, similar to swimming pool liner, completely seals the crawl space and isolates it from the earth. Along with also helping to insulate the crawl space, CleanSpace serves as a moisture and vapor barrier.
Additionally, a SaniDry dehumidifier was placed in the basement to clean and filter the air, control moisture and humidity, and reduce odors and the potential for mold growth.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing these trustworthy repairs have helped them create a safer and healthier living environment, and they are excited to have a more functional storage area!
After living in their house for several years, homeowners in Lewis Center, OH, wanted to look into upgrading their basement waterproofing system. They questioned the effectiveness of their current sump pump system, and they wanted to make sure their home would be properly protected.
After finding information about Ohio Basement Authority through resources like Angie’s List, the owners were eager to contact us for further guidance. They met with Inspector Jiovanni Valentino who took a look at the existing sump pump system. The older pump and pit showed signs of corrosion and potential failure. While the system was tucked in a closet and had a lid to cover the pit, this lid was partially open. Objects could fall into the pit and damage the pumping equipment, and water could easily evaporate back into the basement and cause additional problems. Radon also could enter through the openings in the system.
Jiovanni recommended one of our many reliable sump pump systems, and the homeowners were motivated to move forward with the upgrade.
Foreman Nate Klingenberger and his crew then replaced the older sump pump with the UltraSump Battery Backup System. The UltraSump features a powerful 1/3 hp cast iron pump with a metal float switch inside the heavy-duty polyethylene liner. It also is equipped with a DC pump, charging system and battery, and will automatically turn on if the primary pump fails to operate. The UltraSump can pump out more than 11,000 gallons of water on a new, fully-charged battery. The back-up battery also enables the system to continue to operate even in the event of a power outage. Also, the system was installed inside the larger TripleSafe liner to allow for easy future upgrades.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing their home will always be protected by this trustworthy solution.
