While homeowners in Pataskala, OH, have lived in their house since it was built six years ago, they recently noticed a problem in their basement after heavy rains. Water leaked into several areas, leaving behind wet carpet and drywall.
The owners wanted to make sure their basement and home would be healthy and safe, so they started to research basement waterproofing systems. They found information about Ohio Basement Authority online and were eager to contact us for further guidance. One of our inspectors visited to complete a thorough evaluation of the leaking basement. Our inspector then presented the owners with some of our reliable basement waterproofing solutions.
One of our crews, led by Foreman Valentin Rosales, first removed the existing drywall and insulation from the walls, and then began to install solutions including the WaterGuard interior drainage system, UltraSump Battery Backup System, CleanSpace wall system, and exterior IceGuard attachment.
WaterGuard was placed in the sub-floor to catch seeping water from the walls and floor. Any water intercepted by WaterGuard is directed to the UltraSump system, which features two powerful pumps inside its liner along with an external backup battery. The UltraSump then pumps this water out of the home and away from the foundation. Additionally, an IceGuard was attached to the exterior sump pump discharge line to prevent flooding from frozen or blocked lines.
In place of the older insulation, we covered the walls with the CleanSpace wall system. CleanSpace typically is used to encapsulate crawl spaces, but it also is useful in basements. This thick and durable liner is completely waterproof, and it helps direct any seeping water from the walls down to the WaterGuard system in the floor.
The homeowners are happy to now have a more reliable basement waterproofing system to help keep their home safe and dry for many years to come.
After living in his house for more than 20 years, a homeowner in Pickerington, OH, was preparing to sell the home. But he knew he needed to address some issues in the basement including past water intrusion.
The owner contacted Ohio Basement Authority after hearing about our company and our services. He met with Inspector Dave Wirtz, who completed a thorough evaluation of the home. During his inspection, Dave also pointed out an unsightly and unhealthy partial crawl space adjacent to the basement. Dave then presented the owner with some of our reliable basement waterproofing and crawl space repair solutions.
Foreman Valentin Rosales and his crew removed the debris and failing liner from the crawl space, placed durability-enhancing drainage matting on the crawl space floor, and then encapsulated this area in CleanSpace liner. CleanSpace is a thick and durable liner similar to swimming pool liner. It completely seals the crawl space to isolate it from the earth. CleanSpace is 100% waterproof, and has been treated with an anti-microbial coating to prevent mold and mildew build-up. CleanSpace also acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, and it helps insulate the crawl space.
The basement also was waterproofed with the sub-floor WaterGuard interior drainage system, UltraSump sump pump, and exterior IceGuard attachment.
The previous owner and new homeowner both are pleased these trustworthy solutions were installed to help ensure the health and safety of the home.
Homeowners in New Albany, OH, have lived in their house for almost 15 years. Recently, they began to notice that the floors directly above their crawl space felt bouncy and sagging in some spots. They also were concerned with the health of their crawl space, which lacked proper insulation and sealing material.
The owners knew they could count on Ohio Basement Authority for the right solutions, as they were acquainted with some of our staff. One of our experienced crew foremen, Ryan Toledo, paid the homeowners a visit so he could inspect the condition of the crawl space and its support system. Ryan and the owners then discussed goals for a repair project, and Ryan presented them with some of our reliable crawl space repair solutions.
Foreman Valentin Rosales then worked to complete these projects. Once they removed the failing insulation and any debris from the crawl space, they installed several SmartJacks underneath a new steel supplemental support beam. These heavy-duty, galvanized steel supports permanently stabilize the floor joists and help raise the floor back to level. They also will not rust or corrode. SmartJacks are designed to stop settling, but can easily be adjusted if any settlement occurs.
Drainage matting was then placed on the floor to enhance the strength and durability of the encapsulation material, and SilverGlo insulation panels were placed on the walls. Spray foam insulation also was applied to the band joists. The crawl space was then encapsulated in CleanSpace liner to fully isolate the area from the earth.
The crawl space is now a safer, healthier and more stable area, which benefits the rest of the house and gives the homeowners peace of mind.
After living in his house for 10 years, a homeowner in Dublin, OH, started to notice structural problems in his basement were only getting worse. One of the foundation walls had numerous cracks, and it appeared to also be tilting inward.
While these are common signs of foundation failure, they can result in expensive repairs and serious damage if they are neglected. Concerned with the safety and structural integrity of his house, the owner began to research how to best address these issues. He was eager to contact Ohio Basement Authority for further guidance after he found information about our company online.
The owner met with Inspector Jacob Thomas who completed a thorough evaluation of the home and its problematic foundation wall. Jacob also measured the wall and confirmed it was indeed shifting. Jacob then presented the homeowner with one type of our many reliable foundation repair solutions.
Foreman Valentin Rosales and his crew then installed several Carbon Fiber supports on the wall. These heavy-duty supports firmly adhere to the wall to permanently stabilize it and hold it in its current position. They also protect the wall from any further cracking or inward bowing. Any cracks along the wall also were filled and repaired.
The owner now has peace of mind knowing this trustworthy solution has helped him create a safer living environment.
A tenant in Hilliard, OH, recently notified his landlord of water that was leaking into the basement. The owner of the home knew he could count on Ohio Basement Authority for the perfect solution. He previously chose to work with us on a crawl space encapsulation project in his personal home.
After meeting with one of our inspectors, the owner was eager to again work with us on upgrading his rental property’s basement waterproofing system.
Foreman Valentin Rosales and his crew then waterproofed the basement with the WaterGuard interior drainage system, UltraSump sump pump and CleanSpace wall system.
WaterGuard was placed in the sub-floor and atop the footing to accept seeping water from the walls and floor. This water is then directed to the UltraSump sump pump system that was installed to replace the inefficient system. The UltraSump features two powerful pumps inside the sump liner, as well as an external backup battery that ensures the system’s continued operation even during power outages. CleanSpace also was placed on the walls to improve their appearance and assist with waterproofing. Any water that leaks inside the walls will automatically run behind the liner and into the WaterGuard system.
The owner, as well as the tenant, is happy to have a more reliable waterproofing system to keep the home healthy and dry.
The crawl space under their house has been out of sight and out of mind for many years for homeowners in Springfield, OH. But after recently noticing increased moisture, dampness and musty odors, the owners decided to take a look in this area. They were surprised to find nasty, wet, moldy insulation, debris, and open vents in the crawl space.
The owners wanted to nip these issues in the bud, and they were motivated to seek assistance from Ohio Basement Authority after seeing our TV ads. Inspector Travis Burkart then visited to complete a thorough evaluation of the crawl space. After discussing his findings with the homeowners, as well as their goals with a repair project, Travis then recommended the perfect solutions to transform the crawl space.
Foreman Valentin Rosales and his crew then took great care to remove the unhealthy, unsightly nuisances from the crawl space. Thick drainage matting was placed on the crawl space floor to enhance the durability of the encapsulation material. SilverGlo insulation panels were placed on the walls, and spray foam insulation was applied to the band joists.
The crawl space was then completely encapsulated in CleanSpace liner. This thick and durable liner fully seals the crawl space from the earth, prevents vapor and moisture intrusion, and also helps insulate the crawl space. CleanSpace is tough enough to crawl on, making the crawl space a more functional area for storage.
The owners are happy to now have a safer and healthier crawl space and home because of these trustworthy solutions.
