Before selling their house, homeowners in Pataskala, OH, wanted to tackle several repair projects to improve the health, safety and resale value of the 100-year-old home.
One of their top items was addressing the sump pump system in the basement. This older system lacked a proper lid, which is dangerous for several reasons. Items can easily fall into the open pit and damage the pumping equipment; any water in the pit could evaporate back into the basement and contribute to moisture, humidity and mold growth; and the pit could overflow and flood the basement.
The homeowners heard about Ohio Basement Authority and were then motivated to contact us for further guidance. They met with Inspector Jiovanni Valentino who took a look at the old sump pump system and agreed with the need for an upgrade. Jiovanni then recommended one type of our many reliable sump pump systems.
One of our crews then removed the older sump pump system and replaced it with the SuperSump system. A powerful 1/3 hp pump is housed within the sump liner to help pump seeping water out of the basement. We used the larger liner for our TripleSafe system to allow for easy future upgrades. Additionally, an IceGuard was attached to the exterior sump pump discharge line to prevent flooding if the line freezes or becomes blocked.
The homeowners are happy to have a new sump pump system to help keep the basement dry.
After living in their house for several years, homeowners in Lewis Center, OH, wanted to look into upgrading their basement waterproofing system. They questioned the effectiveness of their current sump pump system, and they wanted to make sure their home would be properly protected.
After finding information about Ohio Basement Authority through resources like Angie’s List, the owners were eager to contact us for further guidance. They met with Inspector Jiovanni Valentino who took a look at the existing sump pump system. The older pump and pit showed signs of corrosion and potential failure. While the system was tucked in a closet and had a lid to cover the pit, this lid was partially open. Objects could fall into the pit and damage the pumping equipment, and water could easily evaporate back into the basement and cause additional problems. Radon also could enter through the openings in the system.
Jiovanni recommended one of our many reliable sump pump systems, and the homeowners were motivated to move forward with the upgrade.
Foreman Nate Klingenberger and his crew then replaced the older sump pump with the UltraSump Battery Backup System. The UltraSump features a powerful 1/3 hp cast iron pump with a metal float switch inside the heavy-duty polyethylene liner. It also is equipped with a DC pump, charging system and battery, and will automatically turn on if the primary pump fails to operate. The UltraSump can pump out more than 11,000 gallons of water on a new, fully-charged battery. The back-up battery also enables the system to continue to operate even in the event of a power outage. Also, the system was installed inside the larger TripleSafe liner to allow for easy future upgrades.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing their home will always be protected by this trustworthy solution.
