Upon moving into their house in Granville, OH, homeowners noticed the partial crawl space adjacent to the basement was not finished. Even though it was insulated, the fiberglass insulation and plastic liner was beginning to fail.
The owners would like to finish the basement area and use it for storage, so they were eager to improve the health and function of the crawl space before moving on to other projects. After seeing a commercial for Ohio Basement Authority on TV, the owners knew they had to call us.
After removing the older insulation and liner, the crawl space was encapsulated in durable CleanSpace liner. This thick liner is similar to pool liner, and it completely isolates the home from the earth. It also prevents moisture and vapor intrusion and helps insulate the crawl space. CleanSpace is tough enough to crawl on, and it automatically brightens and improves the appearance of the crawl space.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing this permanent solution has created a healthier and more functional crawl space they will be able to enjoy for many more years to come.
A homeowner in Columbus, OH, has lived in her house for almost 30 years. Recently, however, she noticed evidence of water intrusion in the partial crawl space adjacent to the basement. She didn’t want this to turn into bigger problems, so she wanted to address this issue right away.
She previously worked with Ohio Basement Authority for a foundation stabilization project, and she knew she could again count on us to assist with the crawl space. Inspector Travis Burkart completed a thorough evaluation of the crawl space, and he recommended several reliable repair solutions.
Foreman Martimiano Alonso and his crew then worked to transform the crawl space with several projects. The crawl space was waterproofed with the SmartPipe drainage system that was placed in the floor to accept seeping water. This water is then directed to the SuperSump system to be pumped out of the basement. An IceGuard also was attached to the exterior sump pump discharge line.
SilverGlo panels were placed on the crawl space walls to insulate the area, and the crawl space was then encapsulated with CleanSpace. This thick, durable liner completely seals the crawl space, isolating it from the earth. CleanSpace also is a moisture and vapor barrier.
The owner now has peace of mind knowing these trustworthy repairs have helped her create a safer and healthier forever home.
After recently moving into their house, homeowners in Dublin, OH, noticed their sump pump was running quite often. They were worried the existing system would not be able to keep up if there was a problem with water in the vast basement.
The owners contacted Ohio Basement Authority after learning more about our company through online resources like Angie’s List. We replaced the existing sump pump with the reliable UltraSump Battery Back-Up System to give them peace of mind.
When Inspector Travis Burkart first visited the homeowners to complete a thorough evaluation of the home and its waterproofing system, he noticed an issue outside. Water had frozen on the outside of the sump pump discharge lines. This can cause major problems inside the home including water seepage and flooding.
To address this problem, we attached IceGuards to the sump pump discharge lines. These attachments will allow water to escape should the discharge lines freeze or become blocked.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing these basement waterproofing solutions will keep their home dry for many more years to come.
Homeowners in Marysville, OH, have lived in their house since it was built 30 years ago. During the last few years, the owners have noticed potential structural issues getting worse. One section of a foundation wall was cracking and appeared to be tilting inward.
Along with the safety and structural integrity of their living environment, the owners were concerned these problems could impact their ability to sell the home some day. They wanted to fix these issues once and for all, so they started to research how to best address these problems. They contacted Ohio Basement Authority after seeing our TV ads, and they were eager to meet with one of our inspectors to learn more about how we could help them.
As he used a laser level and his keen, experienced eye, Inspector Travis Burkart pointed out that the north wall was showing signs of settlement and tipping. He then presented the homeowners with several repair options that would stabilize the wall and prevent any further damage.
The owners were then eager for one of our crews to install several PowerBrace beams. These steel beams are fastened and secured to the floor joists. The beams are then plumbed against the wall as level as possible, and the bottom of the beams are anchored to the floor. These heavy-duty beams are zinc-plated beams so they are protected from corrosion and damage, unlike the other metal and wooden supports that were failing to stabilize the walls. Another unique feature with this system is the ability to tighten the beams during dry seasons to potentially improve and straighten the wall over time.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing this reliable repair solution has helped ensure their home’s structural stability for many years to come.
The crawl space under their house has been out of sight and out of mind for many years for homeowners in Springfield, OH. But after recently noticing increased moisture, dampness and musty odors, the owners decided to take a look in this area. They were surprised to find nasty, wet, moldy insulation, debris, and open vents in the crawl space.
The owners wanted to nip these issues in the bud, and they were motivated to seek assistance from Ohio Basement Authority after seeing our TV ads. Inspector Travis Burkart then visited to complete a thorough evaluation of the crawl space. After discussing his findings with the homeowners, as well as their goals with a repair project, Travis then recommended the perfect solutions to transform the crawl space.
Foreman Valentin Rosales and his crew then took great care to remove the unhealthy, unsightly nuisances from the crawl space. Thick drainage matting was placed on the crawl space floor to enhance the durability of the encapsulation material. SilverGlo insulation panels were placed on the walls, and spray foam insulation was applied to the band joists.
The crawl space was then completely encapsulated in CleanSpace liner. This thick and durable liner fully seals the crawl space from the earth, prevents vapor and moisture intrusion, and also helps insulate the crawl space. CleanSpace is tough enough to crawl on, making the crawl space a more functional area for storage.
The owners are happy to now have a safer and healthier crawl space and home because of these trustworthy solutions.
