They contacted Ohio Basement Authority after researching our services on our company website. Along with many stored items, Inspector Matt Wojciechowski found failing insulation and lining, pests, moisture and duct issues.

We encapsulated the crawl space in CleanSpace liner to completely isolate the area from the earth, and SilverGlo panels for effective insulation.

After removing the drywall from their foundation walls recently, homeowners in Columbus, OH, discovered a few concerning health and safety issues.

One of the walls featured cracks in various patterns, and was beginning to bow inward. There were also moisture issues in the corner, and it appeared the existing sump pump was not functioning properly.

The owners contacted Ohio Basement Authority after learning more about our company online, and we installed various basement waterproofing and foundation repair solutions.

The WaterGuard drainage system was installed in the sub-floor to direct any seeping water to the sump pump. The older sump pump was replaced and upgraded by installing the trustworthy TripleSafe sump pump. An IceGuard was also attached to the exterior sump pump discharge line. These products will always keep water out of the basement and away from the foundation.

The problematic foundation walls were corrected with the installation of several Geo-Lock Wall Anchors. The heavy-duty, galvanized steel anchors stabilize and help straighten the wall so it will no longer crack or bow inward.

The homeowners can rest easier now that their basement is dry and stable!

Transforming a Nasty Crawl Space in Gahanna, OH

Transforming a Nasty Crawl Space in Gahanna, OH Transforming a Nasty Crawl Space in Gahanna, OH

After previously working with Ohio Basement Authority on a basement waterproofing project, homeowners in the Columbus, OH, suburb of Gahanna knew they could count on us again for additional repair projects.

The owners contacted us because they were concerned with their exterior drainage system, so we installed new downspout conductor lines on their property.

While we completed this project, we also addressed a nasty partial crawl space just off of the basement. The crawl space was filled with debris and failing, moldy insulation. These conditions can affect the health of the home, so we removed the nuisances from the crawl space and encapsulated it in CleanSpace.

The thick and durable CleanSpace liner is similar to swimming pool liner. It completely isolates the crawl space from the earth, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, and helps insulate the crawl space. We further helped insulate the area by installing SilverGlo panels on the crawl space walls.

These crawl space repair products transformed the nasty area into a healthier space that also can be used for storage. The homeowners are again happy customers because of these reliable permanent solutions.

Homeowners Waterproofed Before Finishing in Hilliard, OH

When homeowners in Hilliard, OH decided to finish the basement in the house they built in 1990, they knew waterproofing was the first step. They had never had serious water issues, except when a tree root grew through the downspout conductor line. This was replaced, but the homeowner was worried the same tree may have been causing more problems, or would in the future.

While there was no standing or running water, they did experience a lot of moisture in the basement. Because of this, the homeowners agreed to go with our inspector’s waterproofing recommendations.

The installation crew first added UltraSump to the existing sump pump system. UltraSump is a battery backup that continues to pump water out of the house even if the sump pump fails due to an electricity outage or any other reason.

They also attached IceGuard to the sump pump discharge line. This ensures that water can escape from the basement even if the pipe freezes or is blocked for any reason.

Then, they installed WaterGuard. This is an interior drainage system engineered to carry all water out of the basement without worry of it becoming clogged from soil under the floor. It has holes on all sides to collect water from any direction, and has a special flange on top which accepts water that may run down the walls.

Next, the crew placed CleanSpace Liner around the crawl space and foundation walls. This will act as a moisture barrier that will allow the homeowners to finish the basement. It is made out of a thick material similar to a pool liner, and is designed to keep outside elements out of the basement.

Finally, a new polyethylene pipe was set up to ensure no more leaks will occur from conductor line damage.

The homeowners can now finish their basement knowing that these reliable waterproofing systems will keep their space dry and healthy.

Push Pier Installation in Wheelersburg, OH

A homeowner in Wheelersburg, OH noticed a bowing wall in his 24-year-old home. This was concerning for safety and property value reasons, so he called Ohio Basement Authority for help.

One of our inspectors visited the home to assess the situation. He determined that the project called for Push Piers, as well as a few carbon fiber straps and PowerBrace beams.

The homeowner agreed and the project was underway.

The installation crew first installed one carbon fiber strap and three PowerBrace beams inside the foundation walls. Carbon Fiber is a study material with a very high tensile strength (its ability to resist breaking under tension), so it is almost impossible to stretch. PowerBrace beams are steel supports that are custom-fit to the height of the wall and locked in place with wall brackets anchored to the floor.

Then, the bulk of the project involved installing 12 push piers. These are piers driven deep into the soil to underlying bedrock or another stable soil layer. They can provide an opportunity to life a home back toward its original position, often closing cracks and improving operation of doors and windows that may have stuck due to foundation failure.

The homeowner can now sleep soundly knowing that his home is safely supported by these reliable repairs.

One of our highly trained inspectors thoroughly evaluated the crawl space and found a very unhealthy area. It was full of debris and failing insulation and floor matting. Air in the crawl space is drawn up through the house in an airflow pattern from bottom to top.

This greatly concerned the homeowner, and he was eager for one of our expert crews to transform this area of his house.
