We hired Ohio Basement Authority to waterproof and dry out a damp cellar/basement at a historic home of ours. The stone walls and mortar were slowly crumbling. They inspected the foundation, explained all options to us, and completed the entire project in just 2 days. Everyone was very professional and easy to work with. We would highly recommend them to anyone needing similar services. Will use again in the future.

Ohio Basement Authority did phenomenal work. Our inspector, David D was incredibly professional and obviously passionate about what he does. From start to finish he meticulously explained what was going on and how to fix it, all while easing concerns and answering any questions that we had. Our installation crew, Iran H, Chris H, and Zach K were awesome. They were professional, courteous, and weren’t invasive or disruptive in the slightest. I especially want to point out that these guys came out and worked in about a foot of snow and below freezing temperatures on both of the days that they were out. You’re not going to get that from the competition. If you want a sump pump system with proper drainage installed, and you want it installed right, OBA is the way to go.

My wife and I sat down with Matt and were very happy with his assessment to address our concerns. We set a date and time to begin work to install additional Jacpipes and beams. Iran H. and Chris M. called the night before to authorize an earlier start time. They arrived on time. They began working in the crawlspace and cleaned up the work area. Iran and Chris showed us pics and stated they will return to make the adjustments to the jacposts. Very courteous and professional. We recommend the company.

Chase came out to inspect my foundation issue this week and I was super impressed. He took his time and was very thorough. Little did he know I had obtained estimates from two other companies. Sorry Chase! The inspection he did was light years ahead of the other two and the diagnosis was the same as was the fix. But, the estimate came in significantly lower and did not involve ripping off my entire deck. Chase passed the vibe check and was super personable and explained everything so a layman like me could understand. I think he deserves a bonus and a raise. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing a foundation repair.

This review is relative to the initial inspection and estimating session (mine was regarding my slab foundation). Scot was a pleasure to work with — excellent communication leading up to the appointment, super knowledgeable and informative, and also had a great sense of humor. I was presented with several options, received honest guidance regarding what might be more or less urgent, and I never felt like I was being sold unnecessary services. The initial session takes a bit of time (again, very thorough), but this is communicated upfront. I’m in the process of getting a few estimates before I decide the path forward, but I am happy that I included this company on my short list.

I had Jacob come out for an inspection after I purchased this property. He was friendly easy-going and just the type of sales person that I needed for this only negative side to all this is I wish that the 10% was a little pushed out further versus the same day, I think that’s kind of the downside of everything. However, his approach to fixing the situation measuring the walls figuring out everything was gonna flow through was great. I had zero issues directly with him. He was awesome great sales understanding and wasnt pushing things down my throat and somebody like me coming from sales. I don’t like the pushy sales man cause I was that.he didn’t really have an issue building great Rapport with me at all. And he was very truthful. He explained things very simply and easily although I did my resrarch to find out what my issues were so i had an idea of how things would go today, and was able to have a better idea/ plan for myself; he explained this is what we need to get done this is how our company does it. This is how we’re gonna do it. Also, I think what helped is he understood the scope of the work being a former foreman himself. I appreciate him coming out and this guy needs a raise or some more commission great dude great attitude, and great integrity, even better not a pushy sales man. Thank you jacob and thank you for being a man of integerity and honesty i appreciate it very, very much.

Our Inspector, Chelsa, came to our Dayton home the other day to check on some suspected foundation settling. I was extremely impressed with her knowledge, confidence and the way she went about the inspection. She walked the entire house with me, asking questions, making sure she had the layout and all adjacencies correct. After the walk-through, she set up her equipment and showed me specifically where the major problem was located and explained how it would be corrected. When she delivered her full report, it was done very professionally. When I asked her about her company and how she felt about working for them, she replied that she was proud to work for OBA and that she had a great crew working in Dayton. Chelsa also mentioned their parent company Groundworks, and the fact that they are employee owned. (Full disclosure: I'm a big Mike Rowe fan, and heard the Groundworks CEO on his podcast recently). All in all, a very, very good experience.

William and his crew were great! Very professional and courteous. Issues were as follows: Evan the salesman mentioned that we might need to remove the laundry sink at our first walkthrough. But around one week before they were due to arrive for the job, I called to ask about it and he had forgotten about it. He did help me find a really good plumber at a discount to correct this. The next issue was that the board to repair the base of the house was not going to fit, and they did not have the right equipment to do that job. The job got postponed by at least 2 weeks due to other scheduled jobs and staff vacation. In addition, William had to do a job during the morning of our scheduled work which put them back 1/2 day. I really appreciate that this company is family owned, but it feels like they are stretched a bit thin with staffing and equipment.

There was a crack in the foundation in my crawl space. I had received 3 estimates, all with 3 different solutions. I sure was confused. I contacted a few other companies and finally I called Ohio Basement Authority. Nick took his time and thoroughly explained the issue and provided a solution. He was the only one that measured both the crawl space and the room above it and determined that the crack was not a threat to the foundation, explaining why there was not a reason to do anything at this time. I did decide to have the crawl space encapsulated. Nick's team was very courteous and respectful while in my home and completed the job in a timely manner. Don't waste your time in contacting other companies. Nick at Ohio Basement Authority knows his stuff and has the best team ever!
