Even if he hadn’t been able to come so quickly he had already put out a notification to other basement waterproofing companies in our area that there was an emergency and that I needed help quickly, putting my needs over that of any monetary motivation.

Chelsa came out, did a very thorough inspection, and gave an estimate on replacing a rotten sill plate. Iran,Chris, and Zach came the next week right on time, they were very polite and professional and did a great job. I do feel the price I paid was a bit high for a 3 hour repair and $150 in lumber, but the people were great.

I had basement work done by OBA in 2015, removal of French drain in a house that was built in 1932. Wall guard, triple safe sump pump, and dehumidifier installed. Best thing I ever did. March 2026 experienced @ 12 hour power outage. Sump pump failed(10+years old). Had a OBA service call that determined sump pump had to be replaced. That size pump no longer available, and a larger pump (AquaStop triple pump)would require enlarging the pit. The battery had been replaced 2 years prior, but had failed with the pump not working. The service was scheduled and I was not charged for the new battery & case, since it was only 2 yrs. old. They also gave me a 3 yr. maintenance extension, at a discounted price. 03/31/26 a 3 man crew arrived on time, covered everything with plastic and completed the job in 3 hours. Did a great job cleaning up and replacing the furniture that had to be moved. Excellent work, Tracyn, Ali and Blu.

My home is unusualy long, large and awkwardly positioned on a steep slope. I worried for years it was too big of a task to repair thoroughly and would be far too expensive. I had quotes from various experts and never felt confident with any of their solutions. But yesterday I met Dan with Ohio Basement Authority and I have to say: MY OPINION CHANGED QUICKLY. I will never be able to thank @Dan Lauterbur enough for our home evaluation. He worked with precision and great attention to detail, addressing every nagging question, and concern I threw at him with a plethora of knowledge and expertise. His passion for construction and foundation repair was evident. Literally every minute was a fountain of knowledge; he did not rush and spent nearly 4 hours with me to complete our home evaluation, sketch and entire contract. Bringing over 25 years of experience as a general contractor, I can rest easy knowing Dan left no stone unturned during the process. Very excited to continue working with Dan as our Project Manager over the next three months and see our dreams come to fruition!!! I truly do not believe there is another foundation company out there that will have the man power for this monster of a project (32 push peirs, driveway deck, floors and more); all-the-while still making the process stress-free, smooth and affordable. Had a great experience with Ohio Basement Authority recently when they came out to look at our crawl space for encapsulation. Dakota Hruby was the one who did the inspection, and he was fantastic—super friendly, professional, and really took the time to walk me through everything. What stood out the most was how thorough he was. He didn’t just do a quick once-over and leave; he explained things in detail, answered all my questions, and made sure I actually understood what was going on down there and why certain fixes were recommended. I never felt rushed or pressured, which I really appreciated. Overall, I was really impressed with the quality of the inspection and how much time they spent with me. It felt like they genuinely cared about doing things right. Definitely recommend if you’re looking into crawl space work.

8.31.2023Update.After miscommunication I believe we are all set and we will see how it functions!That was fixed.Just waiting on final finished walls to be done which would have been next week but I couldn't do that so will be the following!And now my 2 year old washing machine is leaking from the bottom. If I knew this was going to completely ruin capacity to do laundry……they should have extended the sump pump.Or said you can't use your washer dryer.Got a call yesterday and he had no clue what was discussed discussed aND still needed to be fixed. From Friday evening To Monday 4 pm it was never communicated..So Day three and the plumber was sent out as promised. Matt who was the person I met first who does the assessments now is really great at being hands-on. I met with one of their competitors the day after Matt came. Matt struck me as honest and I read BBB reviews. Ohio Basement stood out because they remedied issues. The other guys did not. The others tried to get me…all 3 of them …to sign that night. Which made me want to say my doors here…bye! Matt simply told me facts. He came out tonight and moved my washer back for me. He told me a plumber was coming and they did. They guys who worked on the basement were really nice and professional. My basement crawl space no longer smells and the musty basement odor is reduced significantly already.A few loose ends which Matt is working on will be fixed and it'll be 5 stars.

We had a Crawl Space Encapsulation completed recently. We got the recommendation from family that have used them before. We could not have asked for a better Team! Kevin was our inspector and was patient with our many questions and sincere in what our personal needs were. Ben was our foreman, he was also extremely patient with questions, and there were many. He made sure we knew exactly what was going on at each stage. All of the Crew that worked with us were courteous, hard working, and friendly! We had Ty with Ben one day! Jeremiah came for electrician consult, it was a pleasure to meet him. Next Crew with Ben was Trenton and K.C….these young men worked hard all day to complete this job and clean up was perfect. Corey did our electrical work and made sure all was safe….as we had some confusing electric lines under there! I feel so satisfied with this experience. And safe and secure in my home! Jacob Nesbitt in my home was a positive experience, and a refreshing experience after other estimators. He was thorough, honest, and earned my trust with his demeaner. He reviewed my options, quoted financing, and I choose to use his company because of his respectful communication style. I felt confident after getting my free quote that negotiating the complex situation in my basement would not only be possible with him, but that we would succeed in getting the results we need. Honestly, its difficult to open your home to a stranger who you need help from on a large project, and it was nice to feel good about it for a change. Ohio Basement Authority is a good mix of national corporation but still has a small business feel.

I'm not sure how so many things went wrong with the water proofing service of our basement, but I am confident these guys fixed the problems. This review is relative to the initial inspection and estimating session (mine was regarding my slab foundation). Scot was a pleasure to work with — excellent communication leading up to the appointment, super knowledgeable and informative, and also had a great sense of humor. I was presented with several options, received honest guidance regarding what might be more or less urgent, and I never felt like I was being sold unnecessary services. The initial session takes a bit of time (again, very thorough), but this is communicated upfront. I’m in the process of getting a few estimates before I decide the path forward, but I am happy that I included this company on my short list.

I called to have the foundation of my home repaired. My floor boards were moving, there was a crack in my center wall. My anxiety was through the roof and I was dreading spending several thousands or tens of thousands of dollars. Mr. Hollis Smith showed up promptly, professionally and friendly. I explained to him my concerns and showed him the issues. After a few hours he basically tells me that the guy I hired to put jack stands in the basement installed them wrong. He also cranked them too high, pushing up on the floors and causing the crack in the wall and the floorboard separation. He then tells me the jack stands were not even needed. What I thought was a massive hole and faulty foundation was perfectly fine. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone. He could have really taken me to the bank for work I did not need done and he didn’t. That’s integrity! He is looking at a few other jobs that we would like to have now. Jobs there are not urgent. We look forward to working with his professionalism, honesty and expertise!

I recently hired this company to install two basement egress windows in one of my rental properties, and they absolutely knocked it out of the park! From the first call, they were super quick to respond—got back to me right away, answered all my questions, and scheduled everything efficiently without any hassle. The team that came out was incredibly professional: polite, knowledgeable, and clearly experienced with egress installations. They did a fantastic job on both windows—clean cuts, solid work around the foundation, great attention to detail, and they left the site spotless when they were done. The new windows look perfect, meet code, and add real value (and safety!) to the rental. If you’re a landlord or homeowner needing egress windows, I highly recommend them. Fast, professional, and top-quality work. Will definitely use them again!

James ******* is fantastic. He quickly identified several issues in our home using advanced equipment and visual inspection. He explained the process of the crawlspace encapsulation and showed us photos so that we understood exactly what is beneath our home. He has worked very well with the contractor from ****, Wayne, who is also excellent. The two of them have agreed on several things, and will work together to try to save our subfloor we were previously told had to be ripped out. We have very scary issues with our house (mold, sagging beams from a dishwasher leak and the foundation shifting due to this). James has drawn a diagram of the house as far as he can for now. Wayne from **** is doing the same. Our HVAC must be ripped out before James can evaluate the rest of our house, but he was able to show us where we have crawlspace and where it is slab. We highly recommend this very knowledgeable and professional technician. We trust him and are grateful he and the other contractor are able to work so well together to try to help us during one of the worst nightmares of our lives. Their calm mannerisms are helping us not panic, and we know they could have padded the bill and ripped out the sub floor. Not wanting to do this shows us even more so that we can trust James to make the best decision to help us. He got down in our crawlspace that is very short in freezing weather and took photos of everything. He is dedicated and he really cares.

Ohio Basement Authority gave us a very reasonable estimate for leveling out several problem spots in our concrete driveway and walkway to our front door. Then they contacted us when a spot opened on their job schedule a few months sooner than expected. Their crew, Nick and Earl, were on time, very personable, kept us fully informed on their progress, and did a great job. Our driveway, walkway, and front-door entryway look much better, with tripping hazards gone. Very happy with the OBA's work!
