"I had Jacob come out for an inspection after I purchased this property. He was friendly easy-going and just the type of sales person that I needed for this only negative side to all this is I wish that the 10% was a little pushed out further versus the same day, I think that’s kind of the downside of everything. However, his approach to fixing the situation measuring the walls figuring out everything was gonna flow through was great. I had zero issues directly with him. He was awesome great sales understanding and wasnt pushing things down my throat and somebody like me coming from sales. I don’t like the pushy sales man cause I was that.he didn’t really have an issue building great Rapport with me at all. And he was very truthful. He explained things very simply and easily although I did my resrarch to find out what my issues were so i had an idea of how things would go today, and was able to have a better idea/ plan for myself; he explained this is what we need to get done this is how our company does it. This is how we’re gonna do it. Also, I think what helped is he understood the scope of the work being a former foreman himself. I appreciate him coming out and this guy needs a raise or some more commission great dude great attitude, and great integrity, even better not a pushy sales man. Thank you jacob and thank you for being a man of integerity and honesty i appreciate it very, very much."

Types of Driveway Damage in Pickerington

Common Causes of your Driveway Problems in Pickerington

Soil Erosion

Over time, water or wind can erode the soil beneath your driveway, creating empty spaces that lead to sinking or cracking concrete.

Poor Soil Compaction

If the soil under your driveway wasn't compacted properly during installation, it can settle unevenly, causing cracks and dips to form.

Tree Root Growth

Roots from nearby trees may grow under your driveway, pushing against the concrete and causing cracks or lifting as they expand.

Freeze-Thaw Cycles

When water in the soil freezes and thaws repeatedly, it expands and contracts, putting stress on your driveway and leading to cracks or uneven surfaces.

Heavy Loads

Your driveway may crack or settle under the weight of heavy vehicles or equipment, especially if the concrete wasn't designed for such loads.

Drainage Issues

Poor drainage can allow water to pool and seep beneath your driveway, eroding the soil and damaging the concrete over time.

Moisture Changes

When saturated, clay soil expands, and when dry, it contracts. These constant changes in moisture levels weaken the support beneath the concrete.

FAQs

Resurfacing is often the most affordable way to fix a driveway. This process involves applying a new layer of asphalt or concrete over existing surfaces to solve minor issues like spalling concrete or cracked surfaces. Resurfacing does not address underlying structural issues, so it's best for driveways only showing surface-level damages. Repairing a driveway early can prevent costly replacements later. For best results, consult a professional to assess whether your driveway can benefit from resurfacing.

Hiring a professional ensures a durable and safe repair that addresses the root issues. Professionals have the expertise to manage complex issues like trip hazards and surface leveling, which are critical for long-term success. DIY attempts often fail to resolve foundational problems, leading to further damage over time. Investing in a professional repair helps maintain driveway integrity and reduces future repair costs.

Yes, large cracks or missing chunks in a driveway can be repaired using techniques like patching and resurfacing. These repairs address structural issues and eliminate safety hazards, such as trip hazards or spalling concrete, to restore the use and appearance of the driveway. For comprehensive repairs, professional assessment and intervention are recommended. Driveway maintenance can significantly enhance curb appeal and property value.

Yes, Pickerington's soil conditions and climate can affect driveway longevity significantly. The area experiences freeze-thaw cycles and potential soil shifts, contributing to issues like frost heave and sunken driveways. Driveway sealing and expansion joints can mitigate these effects by providing flexibility and protection against moisture intrusion. Regular maintenance tailored to local conditions ensures a long-lasting driveway.

Sunken concrete driveways are lifted or leveled using methods like polyurethane foam injection or slab leveling. This process involves injecting expanding foam beneath the slab to stabilize the base and restore the original level. Properly stabilizing a sunken driveway eliminates trip hazards and prolongs the driveway's life. Consult with a specialist to determine the most effective solution for your driveway's condition.
